GloryBound Weapons: Every Weapon Type and the Class That Uses It

Last updated:

GloryBound has three weapon types: sword and shield, spear, and bow. See which combat class wields each one, how they fight differently, and how to pick yours in game.

Quick answer

GloryBound has three weapon types: sword and shield, spear, and bow. Each belongs to one combat class — Gladiator fights with the sword and shield, Lancer with the spear, and Archer with the bow — and choosing a class arms your character with that weapon.

Every weapon type and its class

GloryBound is built around three weapon styles, and the game's official description sums them up directly: "Master the sword and shield, spear or bow." In game, those three styles map onto the three combat classes shown in the class-selection popup: Gladiator, Lancer and Archer.

One weapon style per class is the whole picture shown in class selection: the 'Choose your path' popup presents exactly three class cards — Gladiator, Lancer and Archer — each tied to one of the three weapon styles. The class names are confirmed by the in-game class-selection cards, and the weapon pairings come from the game's official description and guide narration. For a deeper look at what each class plays like, see the GloryBound classes overview and the individual Gladiator, Lancer and Archer class guides.

How the three weapon styles differ in combat

The three styles fill different combat roles rather than being sidegrades of the same tool:

  • Sword and shield (Gladiator) — described as the pick for solid defense in close combat. If you like standing in the middle of a wave and trading hits behind a shield, this is the style built for that.
  • Spear (Lancer) — described as offering longer reach than the other melee option. That extra distance lets you engage enemies before they close all the way in.
  • Bow (Archer) — described as the way to strike from a distance. It is the only ranged style of the three, suited to damaging enemies before they reach you.

These are the roles guide material assigns to each style as an intended playstyle; no damage numbers or exact reach values have been observed, so treat them as a way to choose a fit for your preferred way of fighting, not as precise stat differences.

How to pick up a weapon in game

The way to carry one of these three styles is your class: weapon assignment happens during class selection. Weapon assignment happens during class selection:

  1. Open the "Choose your path" popup, which shows exactly three class cards: Gladiator, Lancer and Archer, each with its trait text and a Choose button.
  2. Click Choose on the card for the weapon style you want.
  3. A banner appears, your character is armed with that class's weapon, and your class info shows in the top-right HUD.

This flow was observed end to end for the Archer choice — after picking Archer, the character holds a bow. The same popup presents all three cards the same way, so Gladiator and Lancer selections are expected to follow the same steps with their respective weapons — though only the Archer choice was observed end to end. If you are deciding which class to commit to, the GloryBound beginner guide walks through the surrounding early-game setup, and the classes page compares all three paths.

Weapon rarity: Common to Mythic

Beyond the class weapon you start with, GloryBound's loot system covers weapons and armor that range in rarity from Common all the way up to Mythic, per the game's official description. In other words, the three weapon types above are the styles you use; loot rarity is the layer on top that determines the quality of the weapons and armor you collect.

For how gear drops and how rarity works in practice, see the GloryBound loot guide and the GloryBound rarity guide. Fresh boosts and rewards that help you gear up faster are maintained on the GloryBound codes page.
